METAMORPHOSIS COLLECTION
I am curious about creating a sense of depth in abstract painting and have used landscape painting techniques to convey space in this collection. I paint solid forms and blocks of color over atmospheric backgrounds that use subtle color changes to add depth. I also explore depth in my backgrounds by painting different colors in thin layers that give a slight glow when light filters through each layer. These paintings evolved from my Abundance Collection.
I distill emotion & memory into refined abstract forms. I begin with wild abandon, giving in entirely to my raw intuition, manifesting in my physical movement as I work. I then create a framework upon which to build, allowing my intuition full reign again. Within this, I refine shapes and depth, often leaving previous layers visible in places or as added texture as a reminder of the perfection found in imperfection-in the mark of a human. The pedimenta is the legacy of my process laid bare. Most are delicately decorated with white gold that shimmers in shifting light as if in motion
Hidden within each of these works is the word “LOVE” and a golden heart, allowing the viewer to explore my imaginary worlds.
